Kwebbl and Smartdc

The challenge

As a globally operating VoIP platform, Kwebbl needed a secure and global network with low latency in order to serve their (end) customers in the best possible way. The Kwebbl platform makes it easy for service providers and distributors to connect to their network, keeping them in control of all incoming and outgoing calls. That is why continuity and connectivity are essential for Kwebbl. When talking to people from his own network, the CTO of Kwebbl, Jochem van de Weerthof, heard about the Smartdc data center because it was well known with regard to uptime and quality.

Kwebbl already knew what they were looking for; a network solution with low latency. Together with the Smartdc and i3D.net team, they charted the current problems they were confronted with. Afterwards they mapped out which solutions would best suit with the desired network infrastructure.

About i3D.net

i3D.net is the sister company of Smartdc, and is one of the leading providers in the field of global game hosting. Everyday millions of gamers use i3D.net’s servers to play online video games. A large number of these servers are housed in Smartdc’s Rotterdam data center. Due to the worldwide coverage of the i3D.net network, it is also extremely suitable for VoIP services.

Because Smartdc and i3D.net are sister companies and work from one central team, they can offer a wide range of solutions. These vary from colocation to network infrastructure solutions. For Kwebbl, it was ideal to work a party that could offer both the expertise as colocation, hardware and network solutions.

The solution

Kwebbl has been a Smartdc and i3D.net customer from the very beginning that Kwebbl started in 2013. Kwebbl purchases 2 racks of colocation in Smartdc in Rotterdam. In addition, i3D.net has set up the complete network environment, including a wave connection, dedicated servers, switches and a direct connection between Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The direct connection between their location in Amsterdam and the Smartdc data center in Rotterdam offers them a fully redundant internet connection.

Quality is essential for Kwebbl, but we also do business based on good relationships with our partners. Of course, business is business, but with the team from Smartdc we had an instant click.

Quality and uptime

The quality of products and service is of paramount importance to both Kwebbl and Smartdc. Both parties must be able to guarantee the highest possible continuity of their services. Preventing downtime is essential in VoIP services. Smartdc’s mission is to make companies online 24/7, the data center has a 99.9999% historical uptime.
