As of January 7th, 2019, both Smartdc Rotterdam and Heerlen data centers are ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 certified.

Ever since Smartdc was established, the security of the stored and processed information within the data center has had a leading role within our overall operational management. All measures taken so far to assure safe and trustworthy storage and data processing finally led to the ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 certification of both Smartdc data centers.

“With the effort of the whole Smartdc team, we have passed certification without any non-compliances.”

The Rotterdam data center was already ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 certified and is now compliant with the latest NEN 7510-1:2017 standards. Besides all required processes and descriptions within the information security management system, many improvements have been made to the physical security systems this year. Managing Director of Smartdc, Richard Boogaard, says: “We have renovated the entire front office of our Rotterdam data center in 2018. The renovation is not only an improvement in practicality and aesthetics, but it also tightened our security. Now our staff can directly see everyone entering or leaving the data center, and several innovative security measures have been implemented”.

The unmanned data center in Heerlen is now officially implemented in the Smartdc information security management system. Together with the physical security systems, data protection is now guaranteed and acknowledged with the ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 certification.

What is NEN 7510?

The NEN 7510 is a Dutch standard regarding the security of medical information, specifically for the health care industry, focusing on patient data.

The assessments have been executed by the British Standards Institution (BSI), commissioned by Smartdc.
